Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Allen Reinhold has favored the nostalgic scenes of the American West since childhood. American Fork Utah, remains his home, and the small town character of the Utah community seems to flavor his paintings.
The magnificent western backdrop, the power of his colors and his superb blending of realism and impressionistic water-color styles plus the quality of light and use of dramatic values give each painting its feeling and mood.
But Allen Reinhold is more than a Western Artist, he is a fine water colorist who loves the West. His paintings are a record of our fast dwindling past. He is not exclusively a western artist, for he is well traveled through out North America, Asia and Europe.
His paintings are based on personal experience and often include a variety of wildlife and domestic animals as well as figures which give life to the scenes. He also enjoys the characterization of people young and old. He always paints with a feeling of love for his subject matter.
